StreetStyle: Joanna Hillman

She was born in Toronto, where she studied Art History. Then, she moved to New York and worked as Lori Goldstein stylist assistant, when she met international photographers such as Richard Avedon, Annie Leibotvitz and Bruce Weber. And now, Joanna Hillman is the Market Editor at Harper's Bazaar, sourcing the globe for the latest trends and must-have items.

Nació en Toronto, donde estudió Historia del Arte. Después, se mudó a Nueva York y trabajó como asistente de estilismo para Lori Goldstein, y es cuando conoció a fotógrafos internacionales de la talla de Richard Avedon, Annie Leibotvitz and Bruce Weber. Y ahora, Joanna Hillman es la Market Editor de Harper's Bazaar, recorriendo el mundo en busca de las últimas tendencias y must-haves.

What do you think about her style? I do love it; I've just found her and it's now one of my favourite it girls. Oh, and I want those gorgeous red earrings!!

Fall 2013 trends: punk, grunge and tartan

As you have probably noticed, punk and grunge styles are coming back next season. Tartan shirts are a key trend for Fall/Winter 2013-2014, but so are leather, ripped jeans, biker jackets and black&red colours. You can wear the trend before Fall thank you to low-cost stores such as Zara or Mango. I've chosen the best items for you! ;)

Como ya os habréis dado cuenta, los estilos punk y grunge vuelven a estar de moda. Las camisas con estampado tartán (cuadros) son una de las principales tendencias para este otoño/invierno de 2013-2014, como también lo son el cuero, los pantalones con rotos, las cazadoras tipo biker y la combinación de negro+rojo. Podemos llevar la tendencia antes de que llegue el otoño gracias a tiendas low-cost como Zara o Mango. ¡He seleccionado las mejores piezas para vosotras!

Yo ya estoy llevando la tendencia grunge/punk, como habéis visto en mi outfit con la camisa de cuadros de mi chico y con mis nuevos botines con hebillas de Topshop. Beach time

Lately, we have a very good weather in Dublin, so on Sunday last week we went cycling to the beach and we ate there =) I wore a comfy look in pastel tones with shorts and my new backpack (so trendy this season! and perfect for this kind of occasions) to go in my vintage bike ❤

Últimamente está haciendo muy bueno en Dublín, así que el domingo de la semana pasada nos fuimos hasta la playa en bici y comimos allí :) Llevé un look cómodo en tonos pastel con shorts y mi nuevo backpack (muy de moda esta temporada, y perfecto para estas ocasiones) para ir en mi bici vintage ❤

Arnotts fashion show in Dublin

Some days ago, I posted about the showroom held by Arnotts Dublin in their press event to show the Fall/Winter 2013 collections. After the gorgeous welcome breakfast, we sat to enjoy a fashion show in which we could see the three key trends for next season: New Grunge, Femme Fatale and Flirtatious 50's.

Hace poco os enseñaba el showroom del evento de prensa que organizó Arnotts en Dublín para mostrar sus colecciones de otoño/invierno 2012-2013. Después del magnífico desayuno de bienvenida, tomamos asiento para disfrutar de un desfile en el que pudimos ver las tres grandes tendencias para la próxima temporada: el estilo Grunge, el look Femme Fatale y los años 50.

Arnotts claims that the key trend for Fall 2013 is the Femme Fatale look, in a feminine and glamurous 40's style. This tailored trend emphasises the waist with fitted skirt suits and long slim pencil skirts. 

Arnotts afirma que la principal tendencia para el otoño de 2013 es el look Femme Fatale, en un estilo años 40 muy femenino y glamuroso. Esta tendencia realza la cintura con trajes con faldas ajustadas y largas faldas entubadas.

The Flirtatious 50's is the second trend, in a ladylike and vintage look with flare silhouettes and lots of retro prints, oversized coats and sweatshirts. 

Los coquetos años 50 es la segunda tendencia, con un toque ladylike y un look vintage en el que destacan las siluetas relajadas y muchos estampados retro, abrigos oversized y sudaderas.

Finally, as you probably already know, Grunge is back! Punk-inspired style is hevaily street influenced where laid back slouchy styling is crucial. Plaid shirts (a plus point if you wrap your shirt around your hips), mini kilts, biker jackets and leather pants are essential.

Finalmente, como seguramente ya sabréis, vuelve el grunge! Este estilo junto al punk recibe influencias de la calle, donde un estilo relajado y desgarbado es crucial. Las camisas con estampado a cuadros (ganaréis un punto más si las colocáis alrededor de vuestras caderas), minifaldas, chaquetas tipo biker y pantalones de cuero son esenciales.
